Topic:  The Importance of Change.

Changes.  Changes.  Everyone seem to want changes.  During this political 
season (and most political season), both major political parties seem to 
rally behind the cry "We are the party of Change!"  But is Change really 
the best policy?  Is there any truth to the saying "The more things change, 
the more they stay the same."  What about, "Nothing ever changes!".  And of 
course, the Buddha taught us the great lesson of Impermanence.  So 
obviously Change must be an important concept.  But what level of change is 
good?  Should we change at the indidual, community, or state level?  What 
about cultural changes?  

During the next two weeks, some of our members will share their thoughts on 
this topic. If this round will be anything like the last, we can expect 
great pieces from the more mundane to the very profound.  Perhaps, some 
light will be shed on how Change is particularly important to the Lao 
peoples.  What kind of Changes will/can bring back the once-great Lan Xang? 
 What kind of Changes will unite our peoples?
