Sa:baydii again folks: Here's another one of a poetry in motion by one of our long time member. Matter of fact, this is her first piece for SJD. She's one of our 4 MCs for SJD Fourth Annual Conference in Washington DC on June 25-17, 1999, too. After some 20s years, the memories of her nativeland is still lingering in her heart and mind. This a sample and a rough draft of her poetry which I enjoy reading it very much and would like to share the piece w/ the rest of SJDers. Thanks, Thu....keep it coming! "A Soul Lost" by Thu Phonpadith I long for repatriation of the soul to a homeland I cannot remember The soil was left untouched in my memories The water never wrapped itself between these fingers The place of my birth has much significance- not to recall its beauty leaves me incomplete I want for a place to call my home I do feel safe within the walls of this land yet I cannot ignore the whispering of my name being called by the wind It points me eastward. -Thu- -- Ky Soumpholphakdy SJD4DC Hosting Committee-Maryland,USA soump@dc.net -or- kyao@geocities.com http://www.geocities.com/Athens/4913/index.html SatJaDham 4th.
