Caged bird

if the caged bird was free
would she really fly
....
wings broken and bruised
seeing the past
Is there anything more to lose
...
she sings
comforting her solitude
she yearns to embrace the world
beyond the bars
...
she hopes
she loves
she cries silent tears
that she alone.. can see
...
hiding
shivering
solemness that
only pain
could bring
...
her wings
   will they support her
     will they be strong enough
when she has not flown
for the sorrow and the fears
...
knowing through pain
   she sees clearly
      the depths of her love
 the whispering wind
      continues to beckon yet
         haunts her with his love
...
even when the key
is clearly
within reach
the cage doors remain locked
by the scars and  wounds of love
 ....
if the caged bird was free
would she really fly
