Here we are, the Generation X Y Z... or whatever the heck nomenclature they seems to have donned us. Give me a break! I'm just trying to survive without the "No, you're the dope.. no you are" rhetoric. In our Laotian community, it has been my experience that ever since the war back home, each one of our families have had their own very interesting adventure leaving their homeland, and being misfits have somehow integrated themselves into this new quagmire that we're just now beginning to call "HOME". Hmm... Think about that one for a minute!! Home? Home is a man's castle. Where he is a king, and his beloved is the queen. I'm no Einstein, but I know that none of us are ever gonna be president of this new "HOME" anytime soon, if ever. I'm glad that many of us have integrated so successfuly, an have found our little niche in society. I'm especially proud that some of us have adapted so well. :) But let us always remember who we are first, khon Lao. There's a French saying that goes: " My land is my life, and my blood is the rivers that run through it, this is the place I call home."
