Sabaydii everyone, We, the members of SatJaDham (also know as Laolit), would like to announce the topic for our next round of essays. In the course of the next two months, we will be posting our essays every Wednesday on the following topic: Different Perspectives of Life This topic will allow us to convey our individual thoughts and experiences of what we consider to be important and meaningful in life. As peoples forced from our homeland, do we just start our lives anew in this foreign land, or do we always dream of home? Do we just live for ourselves or for our community? What should we do to make our lives meaningful? Can we afford to just live day by day or do we need some vision in mind? What is more important to us, money, prestige, or knowlege? These are some of the questions and issues we hope to address and discuss. In no way do we suggest that we have the answers to life's questions. By presenting each of our own individual views from a Lao perspective, we hope that this will not only be cathartic for us as a group, but also for you, the Lao loving peoples of this Global Village. As always, SatJaDham welcomes any comments and/or suggestions. Please post your thoughts here on SCL or email to Laolit@tuddy.cc.monash.edu.au If you would like to know more about our group or to read our previous works, check out these homepages: http://www.monash.edu.au/pub/bane_lao/laoweb/sjdarc.htm http://www.santarosa.edu/~ksaycoci/ksatjadham.html http://www.monash.edu.au/pub/bane_lao/publishing/SatJaDham/ Note: Our first essay on this topic will be this Wednesday the 14th by Kongkeo Saycocie.
