We hope to hear from you real soon. Secondly, what a joy. There is justice in the world once again. Have you not heard? No, not about those maniacs in Seattle ahaha jk. A court order gave Pardeep Nagra, a bearded Sikh boxer, the permission to fight with his beard. Canadian Amateur Boxing officals barred Pardeep from competing due to a international amateur rule. My point is, ladies and gentlemen, be you bearded or not, since there isn't any regulation of any sort, stop the riots and lets hear your mind and voices. => ahaha OH? Finally, I want to take this opportunity to post a well over due story written by D+D, our little munchins from Australia. => Due to the length of the story, I will post a small portion of it once a week. Cool? Here's the intro "Our Buddha" which is part of a tale called "The Great God and the Three Brothers." Our Buddha Written by D+D Edited by Deon Sometimes, when we are in our Mom's village, we like to go for a walk to the fields and watch the men work. Kai is one of our favorite cousins. He and his brothers have several maize fields that use to belong to their father. We like to visit Kai because he always lets us do some work and shows us how to do it properly. One day, when uncle Lance and brother Tee had gone fishing, we decided to go visit Kai. He was working in a field which we had never been to before. We asked Nana how to get there. She said it was a long way and we must be careful to stay on the path because she did not want to spend all night looking for us. Nana took us to the right path, and showed us which direction we had to walk. When we were in the forest, we were always very good because we knew all about "Kongkoi" the ghost. We did not want to get him mad. We also stayed on the path like Nana had told us. We seemed to walk for miles but still could not see any maize. We kept looking around because we were frightened that we had lost our way. Then we saw a funny roof all by itself in the trees. It was not far from the pathway so we walked towards the roof. When we got closer we saw that the little building that held the roof up did not have any walls. It was held up by four stone columns piercing each corner of a stone floor. There lay a statue on the floor. We walked up the seven steps so we could see the statue. That was the first time we ever saw our Buddha. He was beautiful. He was not sitting up or fat like most Buddhas. He was lying down on his side with one elbow on the floor and his hand holding his head up. The other arm was extended along his slender body. He had a really b! ! eautiful smile. He looked a lot like our brother Tee except our Buddha was all green. We thought he was so beautiful that we forgot to do all the things that we were supposed to do when we go near Buddha. We did not go to Kai's maize field that day. We stayed with Buddha and talked to him. We also went to sleep for a while. We returned to the village really late that day. We knew it was late because we could hear our Uncle playing the piano in the house that he and our father built up on the hill above the village. We went to Uncle's house because we thought Nana would be mad at us. Uncle Lance then sent Tee to tell Nana we were home. Tee said that it was OK. Nana would never have been mad at us if Uncle was not upset. We still got our diner and lots of sticky rice that evening. We told Uncle Lance about our Buddha. We thought we knew something that he did not know. Uncle just smiled and told us he had been there many times and knew all about the shrine. We asked him why our Buddha was so far away from the village. He said we should ask Grandfather, because there was a very special story about that particular Buddha. The story involved a pair of twins just like us. The next morning we went to see Grandfather and asked him about our Buddha. Grandfather said he had been meaning to tell us about the story and was glad we had reminded him. We then went to sit under a big tree near the river. Many of our cousins also came to sit with us and Grandfather told us the story of our Buddha. D+D are welcome to visit me anytime. I'll be more than happy to allow them to work for me and show them how to do it properly ahaha....Nah we'll go fishing and do some cow tipping how bout it boys? lol....cow tipping is what Cheeseheads like to do. It is a event where we try to turn a big fat cow over on its side...hard work => jk Take care all and have a wonderful weekend, Deon P.S "The Great God and the three brothers" starts next week. == Douangdeuane Khamvongsa 400 S.Washington P.O.Box 1660 Green Bay, WI 54305-1660 Phone 920/437-8704 Fax 920/437-1024 Website: http://www.titletown.org ============================================= _____________________________________________________________ Add web search or discussion boards to your home page today! ----------------- http://www.everyone.net ------------------ _ ***************************************************************** Visit SatJaDham Homepage at: http://www.satjadham.org (or .net) *****************************************************************
